Does anyone have recommendations on how long a two year old nursing toddler
would need to be NPO before dental surgery under general anesthesia? The doctor
has said 3 hours. Ruth Lawrence says to limit the amount after 4 hours and
permit nursing on a prepumped breast, primarily for comfort. (p.463). This
mother is hoping to find another opinion on this that would allow nursing
closer to surgery. She feels the child will be really upset and will need
nursing longer. I have not been able to find any other information about this
and would appreciate any other information that I could share with her. Thanks.
