Re the woman who dropped her baby while trying to get out of bed to go to
the bathroom --

(1) Is the baby OK? Inquiring minds want to know.
(2) It seems to me this is not a 'co-sleeping' issue at all. It is an issue
of teaching a new mother how to manuever when she has a newborn.

She needs to be taught to put the baby on the bed, or in the bassinet,
before getting up out of bed herself. And then, she can pick up the baby IF
she isn't too weak or dizzy. She shouldn't be taking the baby to the
bathroom with her -- how did she plan to pee while holding the baby? We've
all done this after several weeks -- even nursing the baby in arms while
using the toilet, but not within hours of the birth.

Seems to me this isn't a co-sleeping issue AT ALL.
