I agree with earlier post that it is possible that she may make more milk this time due to increased breast development with each pregnancy. Also, it might be worth mentioning the idea of using an SNS at the breast as necessary. See how she feels about it, because I believe there is so much more to breastfeeding than just making milk. Even if she is unable to make a full milk supply, that doesn't mean she can't feed her baby at the breast. And that increased skin to skin contact and stimulation of the breasts may be helpful. I agree that expressing her colostrum at about 38 or 39 weeks could be beneficial to bring some extra colostrum to the hospital, but not sure that will increase supply. It's my understanding that milk production is largely endocrine controlled at that point and won't really increase number of prolactin receptors, but could be wrong, what are people's thoughts on that?
