I've just learned from one of her colleagues that Virginia Thorley, PhD,
OAM, DipEd , MA, IBCLC, FILCA had a bad fall last week: broke a femur in
one leg, and the patella in the other. She has surgery today (Nov 24), but
then has a recuperative period in the hospital for 6-8 weeks (!!). She will
be without e-mail access for several days, but then will no doubt be up and
doing her reading, from the hospital bed, on her next article or research
paper. Virginia is one of Lactnet's, and the lactation world's, first, and
most endearing, researchers, writers, advocates, mentors and leaders. I
think she'd benefit from a card party.

Those is North America and environs are encouraged to contact me OFF
LACTNET, at [log in to unmask], so that I can exchange with you an appropriate
mailing address for your card (I will collect a bunch of them mailined here
in the USA, and then ship them in one big lump to Australia). Those in
Australia and environs are encouraged to contact Kareleen Gribble OFF
LACTNET, at [log in to unmask], so that she may share approriate
mailing information with those closer to our recuperating gem.
