Breastfeeding: Conditions and Diseases by Merewood and Philipp mentions
fenugreek as a galactagogue.  They mention a report given at the Academy of
Breastfeeding Medicine Fifth Annual Meeting, Sept. 11-13, 2000, "Effect of
fenugreek on breast milk volume."  The study found that 3 capsules per day
of fenugreek seed increased average milk volume from 207 ml to 464 ml
[That's double!!!]  Unfortunately this brief report didn't give a specific
