Hi all. I have a dearly loved babysitter who is planning on having breast
reduction surgery. She is 19 and is having neck and back problems due to
her large bust. She and her mom are going to interview surgeons and her
mother (bless her heart) has already raised the issue of future
breastfeeding. I told her to contact an IBCLC to find out what questions
to ask, issues to raise, things to both look for and beware. Other than
that, do you have any advice that you would give a young lady who is
looking into this type of surgery? I've read all the posts about trying to
save breastfeeding *after* the surgery, but we've never really delved into
how to *preserve* the ability to breastfeed ahead of time. Thanks in
advance. I know I'm going to learn a lot on this one!!!
