    Subject: reoccuring blocked ducts

    Hi All

I would like some collective wisdom on the teatment of reoccuring blocked ducts.

    I have permission to post.

Mother now 8 weeks post partum
Went to the Doctor and was prescribed Flucloycillin for mastitis went back 24 hours later and was changed to Amoxycillin 1 day later admitted to hospital on IV Augmentin scan on sunday no collection or abcess. antibotics changed back to flucloxcillin discharged on Monday taking 1 gram flucloxcillin 4 times day for 3 days and then reduced dose to 500mg for 4 days. Mum wonder if she needs low dose antibotics while she is breastfeeding, she is also taking Lecthicin, vitamin c, and Iron tablets. and resting when she can. this mum will be going back to work in a 2 months time. 6 days later another blocked duct which was massaged and reduced by baby going to the breast.
Mother using cabbage, pumping baby to the breast and lecthcin as per The Breast Feeding answer book.
To-day another call blocked duct again same breast same area, feeling bruised and now not sure that she wants to continue to breastfeed. mum has heard of ultasound treatment I no nothing about this - Has anyone any experience with this treatment - what am I missing - Is there any other treatment or tips that you can share with me

    Thankyou in advance
