A very dear friend of mine just go her baby's picture in the mail! He is in
Korea and a real cutie, born June 12, 1998. She has gone through infertility
treatments and finally said enough. Let's adopt. She really wants to nurse
this baby and is looking to me to help. She called today to find our what she
should do. I have helped others who adopted nurse, but the babies were
newborn. I told her let us wait until the baby gets here as it really depends
on what he will do. Any one have any ideas on things we could try? She is
not all that concerned about milk supply but wants this to be a nurturing
thing. I have given her a lot of literature on nursing and adoption, as she
was unsure how old the baby would be. I looked through the archives and did
not find much on older babies. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank
you, Camille
PS I have had so many nice notes of encouragement to take the IBLC that I have
decided to move in that direction, after 14 years since my certification from
UCLA, and I still will not have a license, I must be out of my mind....Oh well
some of you are very persuasive
