Jan, I will see what we can do about a creamatocrit. Mom has been pumping
after feeds and gets 1-1/2 oz, but even after refrigeration there is only
trace presence of cream, if any.

By the way, the baby is 3 mos instead of 6 weeks. When baby was 4 weeks mom
concentrated on increasing fat in her diet and there did seem to be improved
cream content. Then the weeks with seeing doctors, speech pathologists,
going for weight checks, etc began and mom admits that her diet has taken a
back seat lately. Mom says that her blood cholesterol is very low.

Thanks to Patricia D's suggestion, I re-read Lawerence last night and even
though it was hard for me to understand all of it, it seems that increasing
mom's saturated fat could help baby to utilize the fats that are there by
changing other properties of the milk.

I asked mom about head circumfrence and baby's head size is in the 75th %ile
along with her height. She has been checked from stem to stern by almost
everyone.

I asked her about her and Dad's early-life weight and they both were thin.
She was abm-fed and has many allergies and has been diet conscious for years.

This mom and dad are great to work with. They are conscientious while being
able to keep a healthy perspective. They have a healthy, happy baby who is
developing fine and they continue to see this. They communicate and work
together admirably. Also, after an initial less-than-informed pediatrician,
they are working with an astute, wisened physician. This has been enjoyable
to see too.
