The LLL Leaders out there will be familiar with this:
A suggestion in the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding to help make
sure the baby stays close to the mother in bed is to use a receiving
blanket (or other smallish blanket). The mother folds it
diagonally into a triangle, so it is in half. Lay this on
the bed next to the mother, with the pointed side facing her,
and the folded side facing out. Then the mother lies on the
bottom half of the blanket, on top of the point. Then lay the
baby on the blanket, bringing the blanket over the baby, and
having the mother lie on the top point as well. (p.107)

Thought this might fit in with discussion of hospital co-sleeping.
