Peg, I think the GP resident/ mother who invited you has given you some clues. This is what one of my relations said when seeking pre-natal breastfeeding advice for his (medical) daughter - keep it basic, focusing on a small number of key messages, plus where to find help. After all, you will be speaking to people who know a lot about some things, but very little about breastfeeding.

Suggestions for resouces to suggest for this group's own use are: The ILCA triage tool and the Hale online information. Assume you are in the US, my suggestions for them to give mothers are: the "Find a Lactation Consultant" section of the ILCA website, at www.ilca.org and of course LLL or other services.

Another suggestion? Short case histories by way of illustration can engage and maintain interest.

In summary, a small number of key messages, presented so as to engage their interest, plus information on where to find good information, is better than an information-crammed session.

May Only have 45 minutes. Looking for suggestions as to what to talk
about. The women who called me is a GP residents currently nursing her
second baby and knows that she learned nothing about breastfeeding in
medical school.
what would you think would be most important to cover?
