Hi all,
Just wanted to give an update on my post of a few days ago.  I just saw this
family again and it seems that tincture of time was the cure once again.
Along with a committed mother and supportive father.  I left the mother with
a supply line and shield, which I did make sure she could use on her own.
However, as is often the case, she felt overwhelmed after I left and was
unable to get the shield on herself.  So she kept working on the latch and
giving the baby opportunities at the breast, using compression, pumping, and
feeding by bottle if he still seemed hungry.  Today the baby transferred 1
1/2 oz at the breast.  Nothing extra.  Just a good latch and plenty of
compression.  Good suck/swallow/breathe pattern.  I swear it was a different
baby!  I believe it was Jeannette who recently commented on this
phenomenon... that what an LC sees on one day could be totally different
than what another LC sees a few days later.  If anyone else had seen this
family today they might have thought I was crazy, but I stand by what I saw
two days ago.  Anyway, thanks for the comments and suggestions.
