I am only a sample of one but I was diagnosed long
after my third was weaned). When my fourth was born
I had been on synthroid for a few years (had a miscarriage
in between) and had no problems with supply. He was born
premature and the nurses in the NICU had never seen someone
pump so much colostrom! Of course, I was also an experienced
nurser, this was not even my first NICU experience. He nursed
for 3.5 years, never had a problem.

At the time that I was diagnosed, I had no symptoms, but my
doc did a routine blood test for thyroid since my mother also
has hypothyroid. At the time, we read up on thyroid and wondered,
in hindsight, if I may have been borderline when my third was born
small for gestational age, 4.5 lb (2 kilo) at full term. Does anyone
know if there is a correlation?

I am on a pretty low dose of synthroid, so it's possible that
people with a more severe problem may have different experiences
with supply.

Hope this small sample is helpful.
