Dear Friends:
     I was feeling stunned and upset about this mother and baby; that was my
first response.
     My second response was to send a post to 3,000+ of my closest
colleagues.
     You all have made me feel better.
     I can't think of a single thing I could have done differently in this
case. I did send the mother a letter (with a copy to her MD) saying that I
was honoring her request to terminate our relationship. I wished that her
bleeding would stop, that her milk volume would increase and that she and her
baby would thrive. I told her where she could purchase more SNS, as I gave
her a starter one and she may want a permanent one. I asked her if she would
keep me posted.
     Again, thank you all for your kind words, your encouragement, and your
sharing of my surprise. There is nothing better than being part of a
wonderful community.
