I don't know about this tea, but I do have one question-- is the baby being
fed this tea now? If so, how much? Other than the question of the tea
contributing to sleepiness, my concern would be that this fluid is replacing
breastmilk and thus not stimulating the digestive tract to eliminate the
stool and the accompanying bilirubin. Baby needs breastmilk first and
foremost!

BTW- yes, jaundice does cause the baby to be sleepy and lethargic, so the
nurse is probably right. The question to ask is, what is causing or
exacerbating the jaundice--- Inadequate feeds? Inappropriate supplements?
 Any pathological factors present?
