Hello Lactnetters,

I am a professional librarian who lurks on your listserv, and an avid breastfeeding supporter (Henry is 2.5 and still nursing at all hours). I am not a lactation professional (I apologize for posting to your list without the necessary credentials), but I am hoping to get your advice.

I am working on a library subject guide (a suggested list of books, magazine articles, websites, local resources) for the public on the topic of "Feeding Your Baby". Despite my personal bias towards bf, I must provide a balanced informational look at bf and formula feeding in my subject guide.

Unfortunately, the websites that I have found about formula feeding, or about breastfeeding or formula feeding, all offend me. They all say 'breast is best', but then give misinformation about breastfeeding, or give weak reasons to formula feed.

Can you suggest some websites about formula feeding, or that discuss bf v.s. formula feeding, that provide accurate information from an unbiased source? Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me.

(By the way, I love to listen to you guys talk. Based on one of your recent threads, we are now putting breastmilk on my son's eczema bumps instead of steroids/Elidel - and you know, the jury is still out, but I think it's working. And if it doesn't, no harm done. Thanks for that.)

Sincerely,
Gwen Schmidt, MLIS
