In anticipation of the CD orders for tomorrow's radio program on the US
Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign, I'd like to suggest a change in the way
breastfeeding advocates order their CDs.

KVMR received a huge number of requests for CDs for the April BF show.
Several requests even came from listeners outside the United States--Spain,
Korea, New Zealand, Australia, and Norway. I am happy to report that
everyone who remembered to send in a donation was very generous, and that
helps KVMR continue to produce these programs and make CDs available to
those who want them.

However, because of the format that was used, of sending the CD first and
then waiting for the donation, more than half the recipients forgot to send
in a donation. Since I'm strictly a volunteer and have no financial
interest whatsoever, I've decided it would be OK for me to ask everyone to
send in a donation directly to the station, and with that donation ask for a
copy of BF CD #2, July 9 show. (Or BF CD #1, Apr 23 show, if desired.)

I am going to suggest a $10 donation. Most who donated for the first CD
actually made larger donations, but I don't want anyone to feel they cannot
afford to ask for a CD. Anyone who can't afford the $10 should feel free to
make the donation smaller. No matter what size of donation, KVMR will send
out a CD to the requester as long as it is financially possible to do so.
This is a commitment from this listener-supported, non-commercial,
non-government community radio station. If you are fortunate enough to have
more financial resources and wish to support more distribution, please feel
free to indicate this when you communicate with KVMR.

I want to make sure that no one is excluded from hearing this message
because of inability to pay, but I also want to make sure that KVMR
continues to be supported in its community work. Let's support the
messenger, for making the message possible.

You may send your request and donation online, or by mail to:

KVMR Attn:Development
401 Spring St
Nevada City CA 95959

The radio show will be broadcast tomorrow at noon PDT worldwide--Rachel Myr
listened to it in Norway as the last program happened. We stream live on
www.kvmr.org so all one has to do to hear it on their computer, anywhere in
the world, is make the conversion to their own time zone.

Here is one site: http://www.souledout.org/nightsky/time/ut.html, and here
is another for North America: http://atm.geo.nsf.gov/ieis/time.html.

Of course one has to have a modern computer, rather than a radio, to listen
this way. If you can capture the show on your computer and make your own
CDs to share with others, feel free to do so.

Yours truly,

Arly Helm, MS, IBCLC
