Required frequency of pumping is probably pretty much dependent on storage
capacity. Women with smaller storage capacities donąt have the flexibility
that women with larger capacities do. They need to pump more frequently to
remove the same amount of milk. For eg: if one women has a combined (both
breasts) storage capacity of 750mls she may have to only pump once a day!! -
theoretically! (if she removed the whole lot at one sitting) whereas a
women with a storage capacity of 250mls doesnąt have that option if she's to
maintain a good supply.
