I also thought this, but as I read Dr. Sear's new book on SIDS (SIDS: A
PARENT'S GUIDE TO UNDERSTANDING AND PREVENTING SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME),
he himself has come to embrace the back sleeping. I would urge anyone
wondering about this to read his book--- he has done an excellent job in
compiling all of the most available info and integrating into a reasonable
plan based on common sense.
