The caretakers at SeaWorld the last time we were there told us that it's
now unlawful to touch a manatee in the wild or in captivity unless one is
trained to do so.  I thought that was such a sad commentary on the way our
world is today.  We used to anchor our boat and swim with them, too.
They're affectionately called Gentle Giants, and they are... really gentle
and sweet dispositions.  But I always wondered if us swimming with them...
and other human contact... was their downfall.  :(
