Hi Everybody:
Just to elaborate on my post of yesterday....the editor of a major journal
told me that 9 out of 10 breastfeeding articles were rejected during the peer
review process. I thought "What a shame, for all those great ideas that we
won't ever hear about and for all those authors who had something to say."
Perhaps those authors were not successful with the stringent requirements of
academic research publication....but their ideas and questions would be
interesting to know about. There is a new publication that is a forum for such
things, because there are so many different ways that we learn. The random
clinical trial, or controlled study is only one way to learn, another way is
by stories, and hunches and intuition. We need both ways. Please email me
privately about it. Thanks, Nikki Lee
