I have seen it in a friend.  One breast had incisions from exploratory
surgery.  She produced very little milk so her son rarely took that
breast and quickly there was no reason for him to take it. His birth
was by c-section.  He thrived.

Her daughter is 3 years younger, born vaginally and both breasts are
producing milk.  I have heard of other mothers who have compromised
breast tissue who do better following a VBAC and with second or more
children.  JME.
