Jennifer,
As you so eloquently point out the nutritional deficiencies that face moms,
and all of us, in this modern age (and i could not agree more!), the thought
comes to mind - why do any of us argue the case against good quality
supplementation these days? Emphasis on good quality!
Personally, i have seen many cases of pregnant and nursing moms alleviate a
variety of symptoms once their nutritional profile improved. And these were
not women who could buy 100% organic groceries, so they supplement. The
most profound changes i have witnessed are a handful of women who
complained about needing prescription meds for their pp mood disorder, and
w/o exception, after just a few weeks on good quality omega-3 supps, their
symptons alleviated to where they felt no need to fill the prescription! It is
such a great thing to witness. I never thought i would be such a proponent
of pill-popping, but it is hard to ignore the evidence. The hard part is finding
the best quality.
Ironically, in my own family, with all my knowledge and experience with food
allergies and proper supplementing, etc., it turned out that my youngest really
DID have a genetic problem that was very rare, and not so much the food
allergies after all! Not fair, LOL! Just when you think you have all the
answers, along comes a baby to prove otherwise!
Hope you all don't mind my sharing and posing the vitamin question again.
Back to lurking....
