I'm not a health professional, and have only learned about CME's by being
the consumer rep on various breastfeeding committee for the past 8 years or
so.

But isn't there some body that decides or authorizes whether a educational
presentation is eligible for credit as a CME? What are the ethical
guidelines for this? I would think that a presentation by a formula
company, and at a restuarant, should be questioned as to its value for
earning CME credits. If we can't stop individual nurses or doctors from
attending these, at least the accrediting body should not be authorizing CME
credits for them.
