Dear human milk representatives - As I was sitting here reading todays
digest I received a phone call from a mother breastfeeding her 10th
child. She told me that with each child she breastfeeds she has vaginal
bleeding for the whole year she breastfeeds. This is a very serious
problem an orthodox jewish house, as the women is not considered "clean"
when she is menstruating....and cannot have sexual intercourse until she
has not bleed for a proscribed period of time. She claims not to have any
gyn problems (myomas etc) that would explain this. Her Dr. will not
prescibe anything as she is bf and he will not be responsibe for the baby
( I assume he means ergotamines).
She has been advised to drink rasberry tea, and wants to know if this
will injure the baby. Her baby is 7 weeks old, gaining well, and she is
still bleeding. Two questions: 1.Has anybody had a case like this?
2.Would raspberry teas be recommended for this problem and if so how
much.?
My neice drank raspbery tea to strenthen her uterus and promote an easy
delivery.....which is all I know about it. TIA Toby
