So, would we be surprised that mothers are supplementing by one month and
weaned by 3 mos? In our program, depo was the method of choice (OB's choice,
that is). The avg age of weaning among Puerto Rican mothers (our largest
population group) was 3 mos. Among African-American, caucasian and other
Latina groups, it was much, much longer. I wonder now, if there was a
difference in the numbers of moms of each ethnic group who took depo in
hospital. (There were many other factors, of course, as well).
