Marsha says,

<<My
point was that, due to new requirements within that organization in our
state, some people are taking and passing the IBCLC exam who are not
qualified experientially to do so. >>

I am going to speak as a former member of the IBLCE Board, and say that if
you or anyone else has specific knowledge and incontrovertible proof of ANYONE
who has falsified either their hours or their education in order to sit the
exam, then it is imperative that you notify the IBLCE with your documentation
of the cheating. Vague accusations against "some people" [in the WIC
program in our state] casts aspersions against everyone in WIC that has ever sat
the exam. Since the application has to be signed off by the person's
supervisor, then the allegation extends to them as well.

These are very very serious charges, and as I said, if anyone ever knows of
anyone who has cheated in this way, you have a professional obligation to
notify the IBLCE board. IBLCE does the best they can do to screen applications
and make sure people are not lying about their hours. Therefore, if you
have evidence about someone who is cheating, you have a job to do -- don't make
allegations without follow thru.

is." - Pascal
