A related option to Jessica's suggestion of nursing without the SNS is to hook up SNS but keep it closed for as long as baby will nurse actively (or a reasonable amount of time to avoid tiring baby) and then open it when baby is slowing down or not active. I suggest this because I find that frequently a baby learns that the SNS tube means "time to eat" and over time doesn't invest as much in a breast without the SNS tube.

When baby is at breast with a closed SNS, Mom can also do breast compressions and keep baby stimulated.

Those babies sure are smart!
