On the topic of breastfeeding genes.
My husband is an Ambulance Officer and in his training (2 years ago) one of
the lecturer used breastfeeding as an example or evolution!!! He contended
that women were no longer capable of breastfeeding as easily because they
had 'moved on' in evolutionary terms they had lost the ability to
breastfeeding because it was no longer necessary.
When Aaron told me that one boy I wanted to get at him. Thankfully
Ambulance officers seldom have much to do with breastfeeding although Aaron
has had occasion to let a woman know she had permission to breastfeed her
distressed toddler in the back of the ambulance. I don't know if
breastfeeding is part of the 'delivery of a baby' protocol. I'll have to
check.

By the way. I emailed a couple of days ago about an article stating that
cosleeping increases the risk of SIDS asking for assistance in finding
recent papers. I searched the archives but was only able to find the BMJ
1999 ref and one from NZ (1992). I didn't receive any other references from
anyone. Does that mean they don't exist?
