Magda, you raise some interesting points in your post and I do agree with
your sentiments.

However,  I use my scale on home visits in the first 6 weeks to keep mothers
out of baby clinics!  (Most of the mothers I see here go to the clinic once
a week, primarily for weight checks and often for test-weighing.)   I have
seen so many mothers completely devastated when the "scale" says they are
not providing enough breastmilk!  I also show mothers all the other signs of
a healthy, thriving breastfed baby.  Then I prepare them for their eventual
visits to the baby clinic or paediatrician's office - different scale etc.
