The crib bumper message will probably be the mainstream media consumer
message that gets the most initial attention, since so many people
have these in their homes.

The pacifier recommendation may also get lots of attention.

And for sure! there will be lots of controversy over recommendation
against co-sleeping - there is already a blog posting on this on
Babble's Stollerderby with the provocative headline "Critical New
Infant Sleep Guidelines Frown Heavily on Co-Sleeping" Babble boasts
somewhere between 4 and 8 million parenting eyeballs and uses
controversy to boost its site visits.

‎What is likely to be lost is the important breastfeeding recommendation.

There's lots of work to be done here sorting out the confusing
messaging and the impact it will be having on new moms.
