I have been working with this mother via e-mail could use some ideas.

One of her nipples has a purple "blister" on the tip. She first noticed it
about a month ago and it is about the size of a pea. It gets bright purple
and fuller when her 6 1/2mo old nurses, but does not hurt or cause any
problems. Mom is breastfeeding on demand and is not pumping. . Have any of
you seen something like this? Or can you tell me where I might find
information to share with her?

I have check archives and Auerbach and LLL Answer Book. (maybe I'm not
looking under right thing?) Any ideas? Anything to be concerned about? What
other questions should I be asking her?

Let me introduce myself. I have been a lurker for several months and have
learned a lot from all of you! I am a mother of three - 22, 17 and 14 yrs,
all breastfed and naturally weaned. I was a Leader for 14 years, am now
retired. But have been working with breastfeeding moms for 22 years. My
training is in elementary education, and I teach science classes around San
Diego County. I also teach birth and breastfeeding classes. I really enjoy
teaching breastfeeding classes! I completed my Lactation Educator program
this spring at UCSD and will be in the Lactation Consultant program this
fall. My 22 yr. old daughter is also in the program!
Thanks for your help!
