Small correction Barb, most adoptive mothers do make a full milk supply for their baby, they just need to breastfeed for long enough- for some this will be after a week, some after a month, some 6 months, some a year. There's no way of telling which mums will take a short time or which will take a long time. This mum to be with Turners has as much of a chance as any other woman, the basics of relactation and induced lactation apply- maximise the breastfeeding and the milk supply will be maximised.

Many, despite, all their efforts, and not able to induce lactation at all, but still go on to nurse their babies with an SNS or similar, or just nurse their baby without milk- there is much more to breastfeeding than just the milk!
