About once a month, I find I am posting this information, but it bears
repeating: For an absolute slam-dunk, top-of-the-line, evidence-based,
protocol-filled, parental-handout-appended treatise on human breastmilk for
VLBW babies, download the FREE Toolkits from the Calif Perinatal Quality
Care Collaborative:
http://www.cpqcc.org/quality_improvement/qi_toolkits/nutritional_support_of_the_vlbw_infant_rev_december_2008

When you are done, go to their home page and poke around some more, and find
and download all sorts of goodies for those who work in a NICU with babies
and moms.

And after you show the Toolkit to your "experts," ask them How On Earth they
can be practicing their specialty and think that breastmilk is
"unhygienic"? Sheesh. Didn't the original studies about NEC reduction with
breastmilk feeds come out in *1990*?
