Hi All,
In response to the American Cancer Society - I am not quite sure what
constitutes 'not enough research' on a subject. But to go back to them
armed, here is what I have. If you want the information on research, the
cheapest is LLLI's Facts About Breastfeeding #545g a two page sheet(done
yearly) on current research results concerning breastfeeding, next is a
subscription to Breastfeeding Abstracts a quarterly publication on all
research concerning breastfeeding with selected abstracts and the most
expensive choice would be to go to LLLI's Breastfeeding Reference Library &
Database (this choice would give you the most complete list).
I do have one question for the American Cancer Society, they seem to
have no problem what-so-ever stating that the bearing of children in the 20s
(best) or at all is a factor to reduce one's risk of getting breast cancer,
what is their hangup with even mentioning breastfeeding? I've always
wondered about that (and also the fact that in any health issue, not smoking
is almost always mentioned, but breastfeeding is almost never mentioned!?!)
Anyway here is what I have:

women. Am J Epidemiol 1996; 143(6): 543-52.
