Then how do they explain that VBAC has been used in Europe for a long
time successfully? I think we have to call a spade a spade. This isn't
about research. It's about lawsuits and control over the birth process.
The same is true of feeding babies. Research is based on the perspective
of the researchers and the society in which they live. What research
questions
we ask is dictated by our perspectives and clearly has a bearing on what
answers we get. All of this informs the policies and practices of
individual
docs, hospitals, state and federal public health agencies.

This is why it is so important for well informed birth and bf advocates
to be
involved in research from the ground up!
