There is also information on breastfeeding being collected in most
states now by the PRAMS (I think it's pregnancy risk assessment
management system) study, which is funded by CDC. I think it's
different than the CDC information you referred to. There is
information specific to each state doing the study and then
information required by CDC that is the same for all states. You can
request the information through CDC for the national statistics or
through the department of health in each state.

Subject: US Feeding Stats

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is now collecting
breastfeeding data on the National Immunization Survey. You can
access the stats
at:

_http://www.usbreastfeeding.org/breastfeeding/NIS_data/index.htm_
(http://www.usbreastfeeding.org/breastfeeding/NIS_data/index.htm)

The CDC also has a good publication called "The CDC Guide to
Breastfeeding
Interventions" which may contain some data that you might find
useful. It can
be downloaded from: _www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding_
(http://www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding)
