There used to be a product called Rotorsept which I haven't seen for
some years. It was an antiseptic nipple spray (huh? like our nipples
are *dirty*?) and certainly had chlorhexidine in it. It was marketed
as a preventive for sore nipples. When it was popular, I had a can of
it I used in classes, and got people to spray on their hands and then
lick - just as a baby might lick it off the nipple. The idea was to
show the parents the impact of it, as the taste was truly awful.

There are also other nipple toiletries I still see, but to me these
are just an attempt made by the pharmaceuticals to get money out of
new mothers. I can't imagine any situation in which a mother would
need an antiseptic nipple spray, (unless she had a clear bacterial
skin infection, I s'pose) .

Hm. I haven't! Most of the bf products on sale here are a waste of
money, just like everywhere else in the world!
