"An experienced masseuse can spend hours massaging a new mother's
breast to prevent stiffness and stimulate the secretion of milk. The
service costs between 200 yuan (US$25) and 600 yuan a massage."

Wow!! Chinese middle-class families who are now making a lot of money
are making breastfeeding quite a priority! I have paid only about 150
yuan in a 4-star Shanghai hotel for a one-hour massage. This a really
a LOT of money!! Of course, with disposable income we have the risk
of baby nurses and other such atrocities of postpartum care that we
are all too familiar
with in the west. The good news is that the streets are so dangerous
for pedestrians, it is unlikely strollers (prams) will ever be
embraced. Even though I have seen them marketed in expensive stores
in Hangzhou, I have never seen one used on the streets--all of the
babies I ever saw were in arms.
