I am researching whether or not IBCLCs in countries other than the USA
maintain professional liability insurance. The IBLCE strongly recommends
that IBCLCs have it.
If it is available, is it expensive?
Do you have to be a nurse, midwife, physician or other medical provider to
get it?
I understand that in some countries the affiliate groups get special prices
on liability insurance for their members.
Is it provided by the hospital for those who work in hospital settings? Or
by other health care groups where you work?
I would appreciate input from Lactnetters outside the USA.
Recently there was a discussion about availability of liability insurance
for those in the USA. I recently got the bill for mine, and it is definitely
still available. I get mine from Marsh-Seabury & Smith.
Thanks for any assistance with this question.
