Isn`t it amazing how much anger these articles arouse, both on the part of
mothers who want to let everyone know why they didn`t breastfeed (I was one
of those with my first baby many many years ago!) and from the mothers and
professionals who are convinced that the normal way to feed a baby is by
breastfeeding.
When these articles appear in the popular press, declarations by respected
doctors that a lot of the evidence supporting breastfeeding is unproved, the
first thing to do is to inspect their credentials. They could well be on
the panel of "experts" paid by the formula companies.
