I sure do hate to bring this up, but just anticipating that we might be asked
and therefore need to answer these questions, I feel unsure and I want to
have my answers thought out and accurate, so: anthrax is said to be *not
contagious*, but questions for clarification; if an asymptomatic mom had the
bacterium in her system, I guess inhaled or ingested,

is there *any way* the bacterium would be, or could be, in her breastmilk?

could anthrax toxins be in her breastmilk?

(understandably, I think a mom with disease advanced enough to produce toxins
would be very ill and with symptoms and probably unable to BF at that point)

would antibodies to anthrax be in her breastmilk?

could this be beneficial?

do antibodies appear before toxins?

PS: passed my 10 yr re-exam, relieved I did very well, and this probably due
to working with a range of BF babies, newborns in hospital and older babies
thru Bf mother's groups and consults, reading lactnet, went to ILCA conf 2
yrs ago, active in our local ILCA affiliate which has a wonderful newsletter
and meetings with the local experts giving presentations...did not study *at
all* till the weekend before the test I decided I better do *something* so I
read the BF Atlas (Hoover & Wilson-Clay) cover to cover along with the CD
pictures.
