Could not the nipple pain/breast pain be related to the fact that her
involved ducts became overdistended and now they're still enlarged and triggering
nerve response?  Since I'm not one to suggest medications first, perhaps, soaks
in chamomille water (tea bags in boiling water and then cooled to tolerance),
castor oil packs topically, phytolocca or even B6 as for nipple spasm might be
of help?  Then if these don't help in 2-3 days going from there.  The hot
packing could be done even during latch with warm, moist towel over upper breast
both for BF and pumping.
