I am by no means an expert at this, but knowing that on a three-day US Holiday weekend it may be hard to get a reply from others...and it's Friday (I only have crises at the door/computer/phone at 4 pm on Fridays <grin>) - I'd say:

Get to a Chiropractor, Osteopath, massage therapist, etc. - for mom AND baby.

Potential issues:
 - Baby has some full-body alignment problems (not visible in face asymmetry, but in body tension as you described) that will require some treatment to relax the body and increase the ability to nurse.
 - Baby has problems at the base of the head (Atlas) - the fast delivery could have caused this, as well as intrauterine position or ??? who knows...
 - Mom has some tight pectoral muscles behind the breast that require treatment

Other things I have no knowledge of...but when out of my depth...refer is my motto! (However, if possible go with the mom to learn more and to provide her with support...)

Subject: Re: Please Help -- mama with excruciating breast pain with no visible cause

she was a little chompy but not crazy bad. I stared at her forever trying find SOME assymetry because obviously torticollis was my first thought. I seriously couldn't see it if it was there. I don't know how to post photos here or I would. I could send them to you if you were interested.
