If a woman is considering having the procedure done as opposed to someone
who already has had it done, it might be best to wait til after
breastfeeding is finished because while any damage to the ducts may be
minimal there IS some risk and SOME damage. The damage, though, is likely
to be so slight that it would not interfere with milk production and
delivery.  My information is based on my interview with the very helpful
person at a body piercing establishment here in NYC.
I realized that I hadn't included that information in my previous post
about nipple piercing and wanted to make sure that you all are informed
of this risk factor. In fact, when I jokingly referred to my own pierced
ears, I made mention of the scarring (internal). This most likely happens
anywhere there is piercing...
