On the gloomy subject of moms and BF infants being separated, remember my
Mom and DSS (Dept Social Services)? Well the good news was that they did
not decide to keep her baby. The bad news was that the hearing was simply
cancelled because the judge was on vacation. Mom went to court only to be
told she would have to show up again on March 5th (2 weeks later). I guess
I am naive to be shocked. This has happened to me in housing court. I had
no idea the authorities were so blase about custody cases. The Mom has a
lawyer and an advocate. I don't think I can do much about this myself (I
wrote letters informing all involved that Mom had pumped for a month).
My one question. I asked a dr to prescribe Reglan for the last 6 days of
when she was supposed to be pumping before getting the baby back.
Apparently he gave her a big prescription because she says she has 'lots of
pills' left; she is still taking them and she is still pumping. Is it OK
for her to take these for the 2 extra weeks? I guess the MD must have
thought so....but I am a little concerned. My sources say take for one week
then taper for a week. Anyone experienced with long term Reglan taking?
