Gina, I am not that surprised. As a certified NPR junkie, I do know and see trends in their segments. First of all, despite their mission, they ARE influenced by their big funders, one of the biggest being Merck, the makers of DHA supplements marketed for baby formula and breastfeeding mothers. Their vaccine piece a few months back was blatent Merck propaganda, and many listeners told them so.

Slate.com is also has had other breastfeeding articles and editorials which embrace the "breast is ok" culture.
