I hate to clutter up the list with "non-technical" comments, but I found a
great quote about BF ( great to me x 2 since I am, in addition to IBCLC, an
avid, yet still-learning, gardener). I simply could not think of another
group of people who would appreciate it as much as you all would. I got it
from a daily calendar a friend gave to me.

"If flowers have souls," said Undine, "the bees, whose nurses they are, must
seem to them darling children at the breast." Jean Paul Richter

I think one reason I like it so much is that it refers to children at the
breast, not a baby. One of the biggest problems I find in working with the
(U.S.) public is that most do not think BF needs to go on beyond the first
few months. (Even my best friend, who has heard me preach over and over and
who is in remission from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and really believes her son
deserves the best protection he can get. She just simply cannot get past the
cultural belief that only babies need breastmilk.)
