I don't have any hard data to support this, but usually a med given orally has
less absorption than that same drug givin SQ.  I suggest you ask Dr. Tom Hale
about this.  I also suffer from migrains(hormonal) and have always had good
luck with Fiorocet.  It is a mild analgesic and also caffeine, which helps
vasoconstrict, which is what imitrex does.  Depending on how often your mom
needs medication, this might be a good alternative for her if imitres PO
doesn't work out.  Another option, since SQ Imitrex is not a problem, can't she
just take it in the injectaable form?
