Re: this ezzo/baby sign language thing (an outcry, and then I'll be quiet
about this for now, I promise):

I have an extremely difficult time with ANYONE who will come up with a
ridiculous scheme like this ("chastising" babies - good grief!) and try to
lay it out as "God's way"! And, even worse, sacrificing the needs of perfect
little babies to do so, just to make his pile of money!!

The thing I find most incredible of all in this Ezzo stuff is that ANYBODY
of faith would go for it for one minute! The church I was raised in would
raise an outcry at the first whiff of this sort of thing. You know, anyone
can say or write or teach anything they want, but to try to promote it as
being "God's way of raising children" just raises a rage in me. I heard a
guy on TV yesterday, a Christian *minister*, who was explaining that he uses
the exact guidelines set by God in the Bible to "punish" his kids - it
prescribes lashing them with a "rod" or a leather belt, on bare skin, and it
must raise a welt in order to be effective. (His daughter had been removed
from their custody and placed in foster care because a teacher noticed these
signs of physical abuse on the girl.) This just brings me to tears!

I am not a member of any religious group, but the use of God's name to
justify this sort of thing just makes me want to throw up. Or scream
loudly - or find an appropriate person to write to.

Well, glad I got that off my chest, and hope I have not offended! Now I'll
stop!
